I've been obsessed with electronic music since the early 90s. I understood the mechanics of "a band" and how the combination of physical instruments could work together to instill emotion and movement into the listener. The first time I heard electronic music... my mind and body stopped. I didn't get it, the sounds were so foreign yet beautiful, I had to know how it worked. Since then my obsession hasn't stopped. I've been an avid club goer and producer (albeit as a hobbyist) ever since. After spending so much time with electronic music and on the dance floor I had to know what the other side was like.
I started spinning in 2005 and have been privileged enough to hold a few residencies through the years and guest at different clubs and venues all over the southwest. I plan to spin for as long as I can stand behind the decks.
..What I've learned..
*Respect your venue*
*Spin what you know, spin what you love*
*Spin for your patrons, they didn't show up for you, you showed up for them*
*If you are not having more fun than everyone else, do something else*
..Lastly..
*Don't be a dick*
